Joey at Fashion Island never disappoints, but this time—going family style—made the experience feel even more vibrant and special. The vibe is always on point: stylish, energetic, and elevated without being over the top. It’s the kind of spot where every detail feels intentional, from the ambiance to the plating. I usually stick with my favorite—the Katsu Chicken Salad with grilled chicken—which is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. But this time I switched it up and went for the Herb Crush Salmon. Paired with grilled vegetables instead of the standard sides, it was light, clean, and absolutely delicious. My husband had the Mediterranean Bowl, which he always enjoys—it’s hearty, bold, and hits all the right notes. And we started with the Hummus, which absolutely blew me away. It’s topped with fresh herbs, roasted peppers, olives, mint, edamame, and a dollop of tzatziki in the center. I had the olive oil on the side, and the whole dish was just bursting with fresh, vibrant flavor. Now let’s talk about Jessica, our server—truly the MVP. She made sure every single dish was tailored to my preferences: oil on the side, and she even went back to ensure I got my mix of freshly chopped Serrano, jalapeno, and Fresno peppers. Her kindness, patience, and attention to every picky detail made the experience flawless. Impeccable service. We were also welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne—a thoughtful touch that sets the tone. For dessert, we didn’t go with the Apple Pie a la Mode, even though I’ve heard it’s incredible. It’s more of a puff pastry-style pie, and I usually prefer a crumble—but it’s definitely on my radar for next time. What I have had is their Butter Cake, and let me just say—it’s one of the best in town. Rich, warm, and on par with Nick’s, which is saying something. Joey continues to be a Newport Beach staple for us—refined, consistent, and full of little surprises that keep us coming back.

I had a fantastic experience at JOEY Newport Beach. The atmosphere is vibrant and stylish, perfect for a night out. I started with the Espresso Martini and JOEY Martini—both were delicious and well-balanced, showcasing their strong cocktail game. The Spicy Crab Dip was a standout appetizer—rich, creamy, and with just the right kick. For my main course, I had the Filet with Lobster, which was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the lobster added a nice touch of luxury. Service was attentive, and the overall vibe was upscale yet relaxed. I’ll definitely be back!

We’ve come to Joey multiple times as it is indeed one of our favorite place among our friends and family. The food is always amazing and the vibe is always great. More recently we went for birthday night and it was great. We both had steaks and they were simply delicious. I highly recommend Joey Newport Beach.

Joey in Newport Beach exceeded all expectations with its exceptional service and warm ambiance. While we waited for our table, they offered us champagne and provided a cozy fire pit area to relax. Such a thoughtful touch! Our waiter Kelsey was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining every detail of the menu with care, which made it so easy to choose exactly what we wanted. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection. The lively yet sophisticated atmosphere, combined with their attention to detail, made this a truly memorable dining experience. Whether for a special occasion or a casual night out, Joey is a place I’ll definitely return to

This restaurant is phenomenal! From the fresh food and high quality ingredients to the great customer service and welcome champagne you receive - I highly recommend!! We got the ceviche appetizer, the house salad with champagne vinaigrette, the steak and sushi entree, and we finished it off with the apple pie dessert. The dessert was fantastic and not too sweet which I appreciate. Desserts should be balanced and not overloaded with sugar. Loved everything and can’t wait to come back! On a side note, this is a sceney kind of place, so definitely lots of interesting people watching! :)

Lunch on the patio was exquisite. Really enjoyed the complementary bubbles offered as welcome drink. Service was great, promt and food was served fresh. The lettuce wraps were the best I've ever had elsewhere. The perfect crunch textures and spicy, tangy flavor pop was just wow! The poke bowl was average but good. The blackend chicken was delectable. Super moist with a crisp blackened crust and the seasoning make a statement.
